How to read a gummy supplement label
A friendly six-step guide to reading any gummy supplement label, from the front panel to the Supplement Facts and serving directions, so you shop with confidence.
- Start on the front, then turn to the Supplement Facts panel
- Serving directions on the label are the ones to follow
- Look at both named components and the gummy base
- Use official consumer guides to build confidence
Why label reading is a skill worth having
A supplement label packs a lot into a small space. Once you know the layout, it takes about two minutes to read one with confidence. That is a nice skill for a man who likes to know exactly what goes into his routine, whether the product is a gummy, a capsule or a powder.
This guide uses a gummy as the example, and it points to Strong Peak where it helps. The steps work for any brand.
Think of it as a checklist you can run in the aisle or on your couch with a phone in hand. The goal is not to memorize anything. It is to know where to look and what to read first, so every bottle you pick up feels familiar.
Step one: read the front of the bottle
The front is the brand's headline. On the Strong Peak bottle, a black label carries white-and-gold STRONG PEAK lettering and a mountain-peak mark, and it states "Dietary Supplement" and "30 Gummies."
Two things to look for on any front panel: the product type and the count. The words Dietary Supplement tell you how the product is categorized, and the count tells you how many pieces come in the bottle.
Front panels are marketing space, and that is fine. Every brand wants its bottle to be easy to recognize on a shelf or a counter. They are useful for orientation, and the back of the bottle is where the detail lives.
Step two: find the Supplement Facts panel
The Supplement Facts panel is a boxed table, usually on the back or side. For Strong Peak, the complete panel is printed on the bottle label, and customer support can share details.
The FDA page on using dietary supplements and the MedlinePlus dietary supplements page are friendly overviews of what you are looking at. If you want a product-specific walk-through, see where to find the Strong Peak Supplement Facts.
Step three: check the serving directions
Serving directions are the most important line on the label. They tell you how many gummies make a serving and how often to take it. Follow the serving directions as printed.
Then connect the serving to the bottle. If a bottle holds 30 gummies, the directions help you work out how long it lasts, which is useful when you plan your next order or pick between packs of 2, 3 and 6 bottles. Packs of that size hold 60, 90 and 180 gummies, so you can do the math in a few seconds.
Step four: read the named components and the base
A well-organized panel lists named components in one area and other components, such as the base that holds the gummy together, in another. The information we reviewed for Strong Peak names two botanicals, Tongkat Ali and maca root, along with a gummy base.
- Look at the names first, they tell you what is in the product
- Look at how the label lists amounts, as printed on the bottle
- Look at the base, the part that makes the gummy a chewable

Step five: look for brand statements and step six: compare
Brands often add statements about where and how a product is made. As stated by the brand, Strong Peak is made in the USA, GMP certified, produced in an FDA registered facility and described as a natural product. Read statements like these as the brand's own descriptions.
Finally, compare. Place two labels side by side, read the front, the panel and the directions on each, and you will see quickly which one fits your habits and your plan for the week. The NCCIH guide to using dietary supplements wisely is a good companion read, and our format comparison helps with the gummy-versus-capsule question.
